Floodwater and potential damage
Two large European development projects were successfully completed by the end of 2008:
Both have the objective to make environmental geospatial data available for and accessible to the user. geomer tendered for and further developed the "Production of dynamic (floodwater) hazard maps and potential damage maps" services in this area.
Various failure scenarios for floodwater protection facilities or for the "Untere Weser" dike breaches and hazard maps have been calculated for the city of Kempten. Economic potential damage and risk analyses have also been determined for all these scenarios.
Our work and dedication was impressive. The calculations and GIS solutions developed by geomer have been extended to the complete federal state of Lower Saxony.
